Yesterday was the first day of spring. Dressed for winter, I slowly shed my scarf and sweater as temperatures reached the low 80’s. In the evening, temperatures dropped 40 degrees and in Nashville, we had an amazing thunderstorm! I’ve rarely experienced such a dramatic display as the lightning danced across the sky last night.
Today, as I walk my Labrador Corky, I think about how spring seems like such a lovely season of renewal. All around, I see nature slowly unfold and peak out from the ravages of winter. Flowers begin to bud and bloom, while tiny bright green leaves burst out on trees, soon to provide their sheltering canopies. I see rabbits scurrying around yards that my sweet twelve-year-old Corky no longer senses.
Spring is a beautiful time of year to reflect on life. I have much to be grateful for, the least of which is the resurgence of energy post winter hibernation. I have taken this renewed energy into my practice at my new office location in East Nashville and I’m looking forward to making making connections in this space.
