We all know of times when we have felt maxed out. We remember how we felt when we lost a relationship, started a new job, or moved to a new place. To navigate such difficult periods, I sometimes need to be reminded of how to lift my mood.
Many years ago, I learned to write lists of what I love to do in the back pages of my journals. Therefore, I don’t have to flip through book after book looking for my lists in order to be uplifted!
My lists include, walking my dog Corky, hugging Corky, or spending time outside. I used to take Corky to the dog park. That helped me to get out of the house, outside, and clear my brain.
Another thing on my list is the beach. Since I live inland, nowhere near water, I painted my den in the soothing tones of a beach cottage. I find this room is very calming now.
